My Spanish class is 99% paperless due to minimize printing/copying and help the environment by conserving paper. Students are expected to have a device for class, but not all of them have/can afford one. I have a select couple of students in each class who are lacking devices, and I would love to have a couple of Chromebooks on hand to ensure that each of my students has an equal opportunity to succeed in class. The majority of their notes and classwork are done through Google Classroom, which allows students to work collaboratively with Google apps, keep their notes organized in Google Drive (and not lose them!), and get timely feedback from me as their teacher without having to wait to get back physical worksheets. Our school only has about 10 working computers to loan out for the entire student population, which makes it difficult when many students from the same classes are constantly checking them out. Students also have to take time out of class to go and retrieve these devices which makes them miss valuable information. Having these Chromebooks available in my classroom will increase student success and decrease the amount of class time missed due to lack of resources.
