I believe that teaching is not a profession, but a calling. As educators we are called to love, nurture and encourage our students. Sometimes this calling seems incredibly difficult when we are met with the opposition of violence and poverty. Working at a neighborhood school where gun shots are not uncommon is to say the least... difficult. However, we are tasked with the "wonderful burden", to be the great equalizer. To offer our students a hope - an opportunity to change their situation through achieving an education. To all my fellow educators out there, you know how hard this task is in the best of situations. With you help and support I know that we can sow something beautiful into these children. Please know that all of the donations will be shared with the entire 4th grade team at Joshua Elementary.
