To acquire a new language, students need comprehensible input. In a community with limited exposure to Spanish outside the classroom, I would love to provide a text-rich environment to support my students of varying ability levels. "The more you read, the more things you know!" Help me encourage my students to challenge their brains during our free and voluntary reading time with a plethora of choice of level-appropriate Spanish texts. I chose many comprehensible novels written specifically for Spanish 1 students with high levels of repetition and low unique word counts. Students will be able to choose which novel they read, empowering them in their language learning, and increasing motivation with the power of choice.
