It is always a challenge to find books in Spanish for my students. It is even harder to find authentic texts, books written by native Spanish speakers. I am excited about this project so that my students and I can read stories about social skills, emotions and having a growth mindset. My students love reading and being read to. Social-emotional learning is one of the most important areas of the elementary curriculum. I will utilize these books to help children develop the skills necessary to become caring, confident and considerate human beings. Additionally, these books will help children with behaviors related to anger management, executive functioning skills, trauma, mindfulness and attention.
