Our learning space needs to reflect the dynamic nature of collaboration. We frequently work in pairs and small groups of 3-4 students. We move all the tables and form a circle for meetings. Movement is a key component of our learning. It keeps our brains active! When our classroom changes to meet our needs, we are more engaged as learners. We would like to replace the large, two-person tables with more flexible seating options. These tables take up a lot of space and our difficult to move. With a more open concept, the room has better energy flow and the students are more calm. Flexible seating honors a student's ability to select the best work space for themselves. When students have choices, they are more engaged in their learning.
