The books chosen are intended for my beginning Spanish students and my native speakers, to engage both and lead to a love of working with Spanish as a language and not just a school subject. By sinking their teeth into literature (both familiar and new), my students will be able to apply their budding language skills, while my native speakers can dig in with a good read that is appropriate to their age level. My students already enjoy Spanish, I want them to LOVE it. Fun, comprehensible stories are one way to foster that love.
