My students comprise part of the low-income population committed to making it to and through college. Most of them will be first-generation Hispanic college students, and many are even considered "at-risk" for completing high school. As teachers and professionals, we know how crucial reading is, but we also know that LOVING to read can inspire a natural curiosity for learning that can take our students beyond the classroom. Reading leads to success in all areas of school and beyond. Because of their backgrounds, my students have the potential to change their communities with their futures. This investment will affect generations.
