At my school, there is an unusual high number of foster students. I try to make my therapy environment as warm and comfortable as possible. This includes having seasonal items during certain times of the year. When not in use, if in view, those things can still really catch the eye, and be a distraction. Having these cabinets will allow students to focus on what is intentionally out to help them familiarize with seasons, and how some changes are a natural progression of life. It's difficult to put into words how warmth and decor can ease a student who often already feels like a failure academically. Home-like is a safer place to take chances and learn.
