This project strives to expand the potential life opportunities of my diverse scholars by providing essential access to technology. In the technology-driven society we live in, it is critical that students are given a chance to develop computer literacy. The majority of my students lack technology at home and my current classroom has two computers in total. With these Chromebooks, students will have the chance to conduct research, creatively problem-solve, collaborate with peers, and enhance critical communication skills.
Your donation to this important project will give a group of students from an undeserved area access to transformational learning opportunities. Chromebooks offer hundreds of educational applications that will allow my learners to receive tailored support in math and English language arts throughout the school day. During reading, writing, and math workshops, students will spend a rotation at the Chromebooks, using programs like MobyMax, RazKids, XtraMath, Prodigy, and various Google applications. Furthermore, the Chromebooks will be used for Passion Projects or self-designed research projects based on students' passions. These five Chromebooks will make such experiences possible and will provide foundational tech-skills that have the power to expand the life opportunities of my students as they grow up in the Bay Area.
