The new books will encourage my students to be excited about reading, whether it's at the literacy workplace "Read to Self" or "Read to a Friend". At Shared Reading, I will expose these new books to them, especially books I've loved as a kindergartener. I cannot wait to share with my students these new books that I'm loving as an adult (fiction, non-fiction, homes/clothes around the world, the many Cinderellas). A few titles are: Knuffle Bunny, Pete the Cat, the Eric Carle series, I Have a Dream and so many more. This year, my students love when I read to them in Hmong and English so some of these new books will give me more opportunities to teach them about the Hmong language and culture.
