As a school social worker, the Cricut will be used as a tool to enhance confidence and self-esteem in my students' abilities. As special education students, they often focus on their disability and I would rather focus on what their abilities are and attempt to strengthen them. Our students are in person on a hybrid model, however, if needed, the materials can be used at home through virtual learning and then be presented to students as a gift/incentive during a home visit to continue further engagement. Students will work with me to learn how to use the Cricut and make beautiful shirts and other objects. Since most of my students come from low-income homes, this will allow my students see outside of the box and realize their potential to be able to learn and explore different things....which may seem overwhelming most of the time.
