Flexible seating allows students the opportunity to share various seating choices in our first grade classroom. Research shows that increased movement also strengthens core muscles, balance skills, and increases blood flow to the brain. Increased attention, relaxation, and more focused brains work while their bodies wiggle, wobble, and bounce it out. This is a new strategy to build the physical classroom from a child's perspective and interest while meeting students' individual seating needs. These little bodies are made to MOVE and these innovative bounce balls, stools that wiggle, chairs that wobble, and comfy inflated textured floor cushions provide that chance.
