All of my students have reading disabilities, and many have emotional issues. Having a space for reading and relaxing will encourage my students to do both. A reading nook will address sensory issues and give students a place to be calm when needing a break. It will give us a place to hold small groups in a less formal setting. It will be a useful incentive to production and good behavior. My students find it difficult to sit in a desk all day, and many need to move due to ADHD or health issues. Having another seating option would be fantastic.
