ETA just came out with these fabulous Hand2Mind Daily Math Fluency Kits that include everything my students need everyday to help them become stronger mathematicians. During my fourteen years of teaching math to third graders, I have seen the majority of them struggle with learning their math facts. Math now is more involved than how we learned it in the 80s and 90s. It isn't just memorizing the facts and learning the routine steps to solving the math problem. Students now need to understand what the numbers they are working with represent and ETA's Hand2Mind Daily Math Fluency Kits will help my students with that understanding! There are hands on activities we can use in class and the students can use in stations to help foster this understanding. I believe this is what I've needed the last fourteen years and that these kits will make my students stronger mathematicians who can be flexible with numbers. You might be wondering why I am asking for donations for the second grade kit if I teach third grade. I want both kits for my classroom because it isn't just multiplication fact fluency my students struggle with. Majority of my students come to my class at the beginning of the year and even the first part of third grade not having their math facts memorized and worse not knowing how numbers work together so they can be stronger, faster, and flexible with their numbers. I feel having both kits will help my students do just that! These kits will not only benefit my students this year, but my students in the years to come. I have a lot more teaching years ahead of me so you would be helping hundreds of students when you donate to this cause. Thank you in advance!
