Sylmar Leadership Academy is a public school for advanced studies. Through the year, every student in grades TK-5 will learn general music in my classroom. I also teach two middle school band classes and one middle school orchestra class. Recently, we were awarded a generous grant of 30 new instruments from the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation. Our students are so eager to learn and the program is growing so fast that we are still short instruments and supplies. Most of our students come from low-income families who can not provide their own instruments and materials. Now we need more method books and supplies to keep up with the growth of this exiting young music program. Please consider helping to change kids' lives through their experience in school music.
