The funding of this project would help provide a more diverse assortment of culturally relevant novels to my students. Students are more likely to read if they find a book that features one of their interests or if the main character is similar to them in some way. I want to inspire my students to read and find an adventure in books. Having books like these in our classroom library will allow more students access to books with a multitude of characters and interests. My students will be exposed to a variety of cultures, countries, professions, and hobbies as they read these books. In my class, students are expected to read at least one book a week. With your donation, we will be able to provide students with books that will inspire them and keep them reading throughout the year. Middle school is an important time in which many students start to view reading as a chore. By offering students books of interest, we can change how they see reading. With your help, my students can explore the world through books too.
