Music teachers across the country are striving to be flexible and creative in our endeavor to reach our students. My 6th graders, sadly, will not be able to sing in choir due to COVID-19. By purchasing a class set of ukuleles , my students will be able to continue making music during this uncertain and unusual time. Ukuleles, which are easily disinfected, will allow us to learn many of the same skills and concepts we would if we were singing in a way that is safe and sanitary for all members of our classroom community. Providing our middle school Choir students with ukuleles will help them learn how to read & play music, but more importantly, give them a POSITIVE experience that supports their emotional well-being. When we can sing in choir again we will be able to play and sing JOYFULLY TOGETHER! Giving the gift of music has a life-long impact. Thank you for considering donating to our project.
