Students in my classroom are each cherished as both individuals and learners. This is the place where I strive to grow a love of reading, sharing, and learning. A large portion of our day is spent at the carpet where we can join together to ready and grow our minds for reading. Students are excited to see the adventures that await in our interactive read aloud, they're anxious to see the choices our characters will make, and then they are ready to head off to explore in their own personal books. The only thing that could make this better would be if each child were more comfortable and had a place at the carpet to call their own. Everyday, some students are unfortunately left to sit on the uncomfortable, cold, hard floor. Others sit on the current rug that isn't well padded and is too small, but either way, they still come, ready for a day of reading and learning.
