These resource boxes, maps, and literature libraries will be used in literacy centers to integrate social studies standards. Students will have many opportunities to process and solidify their knowledge in both social studies and literacy through engaging activities. Learning should be fun and purposeful. These social studies resources will increase classroom engagement. Students will access quality literature, including primary source documents, project-based activities, games, maps, and independent and group centers. My kids will develop reading strategies, think critically, learn historical and geographical facts, and have ample opportunity to respond in writing and in their own creative ways to demonstrate their learning.
