It is impossible to even have a conversation when you are hungry, much less absorb knowledge. It is important as a motivator and as a means to meet a basic need in our students' lives. Snacks help me when I am doing chores at home or the college kids at Starbucks finishing a major paper. I want the students to feel they are able to get what they need in order to learn in our positive setting sometimes the difference of some hot oatmeal, or a crunchy snack when after lunch I still feel like it was just an appetizer. Hunger and anger is a recipe for han·gry /ˈhaNGɡrē/Submit adjective INFORMAL bad-tempered or irritable as a result of hunger. "I get very hangry if I miss a meal" It is our goal to have the students making safe and stable choices. The best way to do that is to be in their best mindset. It is unrealistic to expect this on an empty stomach. Please help stock the classrooms for the snack times when we really need something to grab and go.
