All of my students need to work on social skills, sharing, cooperative play, and taking turns. Two of my students are nonverbal and are just emerging in being able to engage in parallel play with their peers. Five out of 7 of my students are diagnosed with autism. They have significant difficulty interacting with peers, engaging in pretend play, and playing with the same toy or in the same area with one other peer. My students with autism also perseverate on items related to animals or transportation or stuffed animals.
