My project will introduce the children to computer coding. I will share with them some basics related to computers, programming and coding. Then I will introduce my preschoolers to early coding skills using age appropriate digital and non-digital materials such as games and story maps. I would use familiar preschool books to create story maps that will move us along a path from the beginning to the end of a story/book following a specific order. Other non-digital resources are the games Code Hopper: Computer Coding Fun and Let's Go Code! Activity Set. These games will keep my preschoolers' bodies active while building their minds!! They will introduce the coding elements of sequencing, conditionals and repetition.
Code and Go Robot Mouse Activity Set is a resource that is very hands-on and will benefit all of my Pre-K children Code and Go Robot Mouse is a digital learning game. Programming basics, sequencing, problem solving and critical thinking are the main skills that my children will be building when using/playing this coding game. Using digital and non-digital materials, the children in my classroom will be involved in hands-on engineering and math activities that will teach coding basics.
