In my 4th grade science classroom, science is a verb and not a noun. As Miss Frizzle always says, I believe students learn best when they "take chances, make mistakes, and get messy." My students are constantly engaged in hands-on, inquiry-based labs and activities that will help lead them to a better understanding of the world around them. Being the curious beings that they are, they get excited about learning in this way! However, with access to only 2 classroom computers and a lack of nearby resources, our exploration of the world is limited to what happens inside the four walls of our classroom. By donating to my project, you will be providing my students with 5 Chromebooks that will allow them to go beyond the classroom walls by giving them the opportunity to participate in virtual labs, keep digital science notebooks, visit the planetarium, talk with real scientists, and more. With these Chromebooks, my students will also utilize Google Classroom to complete project -based learning activities in the classroom. This will allow me to differentiate the instructional materials for each child. By donating to this project, you will be giving the world to my students!
