Riding tricycles improves gross and fine motor skills, pre-reading skills, balance, confidence, and cognitive skills among others. When a child pedals a bicycle, they teach their muscles to work together which will carry over into reading along a line. Balance and upper body strength will improve and allow children to sit comfortably and learn successfully. They will make decisions about direction and safety while working on cause and effect related to their decisions. Independence and confidence will grow and build imagination. Tricycles will expand the scope of our outdoor experiences, work our muscles, and continue to work on all of the school readiness goals we work on daily.
