First and Second graders are natural story tellers. During these grades they learn to transfer their thoughts to paper through writing. It is an exciting time and critical to their success in third grade when state testing begins. Right now we have 7 working tablets that the students learn technological, reading and math skills through, but do not teach typing. Having two Chromebook computers in the classroom would allow my students to record and upload videos to student-friendly websites (like ClassDojo), learn essential typing skills, and begin digitally publishing their writing. It would also allow them to access quality educational websites as they learn to research.
