I currently teach in a very rural, very small, high poverty school district that consists of under 160 students Kindergarten through 12th grade. We are a natural resources school that is attempting to use our location to integrate natural resources into all disciplines and grade levels. Unfortunately, due to our size and our location my students have very limited opportunities and experiences, outside those provided at school, with real world, hands-on projects and learning opportunities that show them where Math, Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology are important. Despite all the struggles and difficulties my student face daily, they are excited to learn and participate in meaningful activities. My hope is to get the resources necessary to provide them with these opportunities and experiences.
