The students in our district come from many different backgrounds both economically and ethnically. We have a long history of producing musical excellence in this district despite the disadvantageous background from which many students begin. In this specific building students can play string instruments in grades 4-6. Many of these students can not afford to rent their own instruments despite their immense musical talents. Our district has a very limited supply of instruments and many of these young students never see their potential fulfilled. These students are absolutely thrilled when they receive a new string instrument! Their excitement can be likened to receiving a Christmas present from Santa!
