  • Students Soar With Soccer

    Funded Dec 23, 2022

This is incredible! The days were ticking down and I began to doubt if this proposal would receive enough support to earn full-funding. I was so surprised to get the email, letting me know the project was funded. What a great present this holiday season. We are currently on winter break and I can't wait to tell the students the soccer equipment is on the way. I hope you enjoy the pictures of students playing soccer. All of your donations are greatly appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

  • Loving Library Learning!

    Funded May 22, 2020

Thank you for your generous donation. I was able to connect with my students even though school was closed. The chrome book allowed me to start distance learning. I did not have to worry that my laptop would freeze in a middle of a lesson , thus halting the distance learning. The chrome book allowed my students to contact me on a regular basis using Google classroom. My students were most excited about using Google meets. They were able to talk and see their friends in a safe online environment.

The books allowed me to read aloud to my students. One of my students would even bring his little sister to out story time. It makes me so happy that my students were able to continue learning and develop a love for reading even though the school building was closed.”

    Funded Oct 24, 2018

It is with great enthusiasm that I share my"Literacy + LEGO's = Learning," grant impact letter with you! Many thanks for your generous donation and continue support to our school! Our teachers have already been hard at work integrating many LEGO projects into the curriculum. The students LOVE using the Legos.

The LEGO Simple Machine kit will be used in a variety of science, technology and engineering lessons.

The LEGO Women of NASA is an inspiration to my students. They are able to see themselves as scientists.

The EPIC Lego Board is instrumental part of the Making process by providing stimulating

environments that promote curiosity. provides opportunities

children to tinker, experiment, play, explore and Make.

    Thanks again for your support!"”

  • Fizz, Boom, and Read! Spark STEM Library Learning

    Funded Nov 1, 2017

Thank you Chevron Corporation for your generous funding to supply our class with STEM Fairy Tale kits,Kindles, and ink.

The most exciting part for me is seeing how excited the students are and how engaged they are when designing happier endings to fairy tales—as they design a house that can't be blown down, construct a bridge that keeps 3 goats safe from the troll and build a chair even Goldilocks can't break! The kits help children discover the STEM in their favorite fairy tales—and naturally inspire them to explore each challenging situation until they find a solution.

Students are able to research using the Kindle notebooks. The students also use them to video projects and take pictures. The students are so excited to share the videos of their projects.

Again, thank you for your kind donation and for helping our students learn with 21st century technology!"”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Harper

  • Breaking News! Students Love Non-Fiction!

    Funded Oct 27, 2016

There is a heavy emphasis on non fiction in the fourth grade Common Core, having the Scholastic News publication sent to the classroom and the ability for myself and students to view the same content online has been a tremendous help in presenting age appropriate nonfiction current events material. The Scholastic News Online publication allows opportunities for independent work, collaborative group work, and even whole class instruction. I have been able to decide which approach will work best for certain situations in the classroom and assignments for at home completion.

Scholastic News is a great age appropriate source of informational texts. The articles are current, interesting, and appropriate for children. They use a variety of different text structures and text features so they make excellent practice passages for working with nonfiction regardless of independent reading levels. The web site provides support with vocabulary slideshows and games.

This magazine provides an engaging and meaningful way to integrate many ELA common core standard requirements into my fourth grade English Language Arts and social studies instruction. We have used it with small guided reading groups and reading mini lessons. Students read and respond to the articles with graphic organizers or in journals. I will recommend this publication to my colleagues!”

  • Supporting STEM in Our Classroom!

    Funded Nov 20, 2015

This is a small token of gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The Chevron Fuel Your School Program has provided my students with the opportunity to become real life scientists. The butterfly life cycle kit provided hands on opportunities to explore nature. The cycle of life experience continues because the butterflies laid eggs in the butterfly kits.

The students were thrilled with the computer and ink that you donated.

It doesn't think like one computer and ink would make a difference, but it does. My students become real authors when the publish their work.

Without companies like yours, thousands of classrooms and students would do without.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Harper

  • Getting Fired Up With STEM Learning!

    Funded Oct 24, 2014

Thank you all so much for your generous support! My students were so excited to have computers and Kindles in the classroom. My students are using them everyday. They are able to explore and research topics in science and other subjects using the technology you provided.

There is a major crisis in education right now. Educators are feeling the impact of cuts in all areas, especially in the area of science. It is through the help of wonderful people like you, that teachers are still able to give students experiences that will help them in life.

Thank you for everything that you have done to help my classroom and students!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Harper

  • The Wonders of STEM

    Funded Oct 8, 2013

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. The Super Science magazines bring science to life every month. My students have traveled the world and met real scientists through Super Science. The games have taught them science concepts in a fun way. Thanks to your generosity my students believe they can become scientists. The safety glasses have added an element of realism to our experiments. In addition to the protection the safety goggles provide, my students became real scientists every time they put them on.

Our school is currently facing a budget shortfall so without your help, my students would never have had these vital resources. It is important to install the love of science in elementary school, the resources you provided have installed the love of science in my students

Without donors like you thousands of students in the United States would go without.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Harper

  • It's Alive! Bringing Science to Life

    Funded Nov 16, 2012

Thank you so much for contributing to this exciting project! I believe that having these essential science materials greatly enhanced the learning experience in my classroom and helped build the fundamental skills that are so necessary to their future success.

My students were able to develop a hypothesis, observe, collect data, compare real results and from conclusions using the plants and insects.

My students will benefit every day because of your generosity and kindness. Thank you for finding my project worthwhile!”

  • It's Alive! Bringing Science to Life

    Funded Jan 11, 2012

I am so thankful for your generous donation to my science learning community. The students in science class will use the Wisconsin Fast Plants, butterflies, and the Life in a Rotting Log kit to explore life cycles in the classroom. I started this project to bring an interactive science learning experience to my students. The students have begun making predictions, developing hypothesis, making observations, and collecting data. It is my hope that these hands on experiences are developing future scientists.

You have helped me achieve this goal by providing these materials. These organisms will leave a lasting impression that inspires my students to have a positive impact on their community.

Thank you again for your generous donation.”
