Student will have nature walk, field trips and expert visits. Students will learn about food chains. We will explore how fragile some environments are and how life circles work. Students will be able to reflect on how everything plays an important role in the ecosystem and how when one organism is in danger the rest of them are affected. We will be using the trout in the classroom program and we will be releasing the trout in our local lake. Students will get to learn and share their opinions on farm and wild fishing. Each student will make a trout sculpture, they will work with air dry clay and make revisions to practice scientific accurate representation. Students will also keep a observational journal to take to field trips where they will record, reflect, predict and wonder. What are we made of? This being the question that will guide our work. Student will discover the ways in which we are part of the ecosystem and food chain but also the less tangible things that make us who we are like empathy, courage etc. learning opportunity.
