As a first year teacher in a Title I school, it is very hard to fund your own classroom. As a student teacher, I noticed that with the little kindergartners, they need lots of kinesthetic and tactile pieces to help with building their phonemic and phonological awareness or even choice time to help with social skills within the classroom community. In order to build my classroom community and build confidence within my students, I want to provide students with the best materials and resources. I am asking for sight words/guided reading books, activities and games focused on letter recognition, and math cards to increase math fluency. My project is about getting the best educational games and books to cater to the students' learning styles. My students are always overzealous about new materials because they are always eager to learn. Since I was student teacher at my school last year, I know my incoming students very well and what they need. I believe that students should be provided with the materials in order to receive the best education possible. I hope that this project will be able to get funded so that I can give them the education that they deserve.
