A variety of shelving, storage, and organization units would help me present a welcoming classroom environment for students and parents. The mailbox/welcome center would be the first thing utilized by parents and students. This would provide a convenient, designated place for parents to sign students in and out as required. It would also provide each student a personal place to put mail and any home/school communication. This is a purposeful piece that is missing from our classroom. Our classroom is in need of updated and safe storage units and containers. One shelf left behind is a secondhand metal bookcase with sharp corners. The other is a homemade wooden shelf that also has sharp corners and edges. Your donation would allow children to safely access toys and manipulatives from an organized and visible storage unit. It would help create efficiency for staff and facilitate student's independent learning and exploring. The storage units also help divide the room into designated center areas for the children. It is important the shelving and storage units are sturdy safe for the classroom learning environment.
