The TAP Theatre students at Kingston love performing for their fellow classmates and the community, and I love to give them the opportunity to do so. We all know our students love to learn through entertainment, and as teachers and parents, we want our kids to learn and experience as much as possible, so we are trying to give them a mobile "venue" (performance space) for this specific theatrical outlet. Last year, we put on two educational performances second semester and would love to collaborate with DARE, the library, and various teachers, to do even more at the school (maybe even travel from school to school).
Kingston has a wonderful stage but needs curtains for the full show effect. These future shows will be interactive where all the Kingston Cubs will get to "shine" on stage. These curtains can also travel and serve as a backdrop at any location for traveling shows. The pipe and drape can also be used as a screen for projecting the performances for the kids to watch back on the big screen.
The best way for both the TAP Theatre kids and the school as whole to learn is through experience and observation, and these curtains would create more opportunities for these performances and activities to happen and feel special to all involved.
