I want to put the gift of digital learning in the hands of my students. Digital learning provides many ways to seamlessly differentiate instruction for their needs, and it also gives the students opportunities to be personal with their own learning! Creativity drives engagement and allows students to add their own authentic touch to their lives and to those around them! In these ways, it has great potential to lock into individual talents and allow those talents to grow! To take this aspiration a step further, I also want to give my students the chance to learn a new and up-and-coming skill in our modern world - coding! With all of the above said, Osmo has created an AMAZING product that offers all of these opportunities! Their Coding Games cater to musical talents and artistic talents while also working on coding skills. The Genius Kit focuses children on reading, writing, and mathematic skills. The Creative Kit gives students the chance to reflect on who they are and how they can make more of who they are as individuals. Lastly, the Pizza Co. Game teaches entrepreneurship, another real-world skill, while students are also working with economic skills. With technology advancing and increasingly becoming more apparent in our everyday lives, I truly believe it is SO important to adapt children to these technological skills at an early age. Their brains are so malleable as young children, and introducing skills that otherwise would never be introduced in the tradition school setting, can greatly alter their futures and the world's!
