These books will help student learn about and respect our diverse classroom and world. These books will also help students who are new to the country make sense of their personal histories. These students deserve to see characters in books that look like them, have had similar experiences, and/or similar cultures. This can help students have a better connection to school and literature but can also help students make sense of their personal histories as well. Students will have the opportunity to use the resources in whole group reading lessons and choose the from our classroom library. We are diverse and we can learn from one another.
