I currently work as K-5 gifted enrichment support at Evans City, a combination elementary and middle school just north of Pittsburgh. The children I serve are an electric bunch of very divergent thinkers. Because they are "gifted," my kiddos seek advanced, and often quirky, perspectives to learning about their world. They literally burst through my door each day with a passion for questions, an eagerness to wonder, a burning desire to collaborate past our classroom walls, and a real need to reach beyond ordinary knowledge towards extraordinary understandings. My students like to challenge the status quo, they demand activities that are authentic to their real-world experiences, and they produce remarkable outcomes when they are engaged in what they're doing!
