My students attend a public charter school. My students are engaged and fascinated by the world around and whenever we learn about a new subject (insects, space, make believe worlds) they have question after question and want more knowledge and the ability to explore. I want to give them the fuel for that fire, I want them to experience and learn things through literature like I did when I was young. I want them to learn about people, places, and events that they can mimic and explore within their lives. I want them to go home and inquisitively poke at plants and wonder about the sky, I want them to go home with thoughts of Martin Luther King and Amelia Erhart, knowing that these people came through many hardships and used their determination to do amazing things. I want them to find this through
