I teach 2nd and 3rd grade students who are reading below grade. These students lack the home support and benefit from working in small groups. My goal is to get my students to be life longer readers. Our school has a very diverse population with many students that speak English as a second language. New exciting and motivating lessons get my students to love coming to reading group daily. I change attitudes around from hating to read to begging for books to take home. Karaoke will be one more tool I can use to help these struggling students read more inside and outside of the classroom.
