Students need to be independent. Even though there will be a continued sense of community, students need to be responsible for retrieving their own "mail." Also, community jobs such as the mailman would give students a sense of importance and feel like they are contributing to the classroom. There are so many good qualities that these students possess and it would be great to have them demonstrate it on a daily basis. These students need responsibility and continued community support. Students always enjoy putting mail in mailboxes and 'getting mail'. Every one like getting packages and mail (as long as they aren't bills!) Students can't wait to see what's in their mailboxes and I can't wait to show them.
