Flexible seating has been researched and shown that students feel more comfortable and are sometimes able to attend better in class when they leave the traditional desk setting. I would like to transform my high school Spanish classroom into a flexible seating environment, and I need help to get the supplies necessary to do that. This part of my project will give my kids clipboards and lap desks to use in more non-traditional seating configurations, such as bean bag chairs and floor pillows. I work in a rural district where funds aren't readily available, but I want to give my students this opportunity to learn in an environment more conducive to their needs and to give them a warm, inviting place to learn and grow.
