My students need a MacBook Air and Chromebook for their penguin project. Students will brainstorm and find ways in which penguins are well-adapted to cold water and icy environments. The MacBook Air and Chromebook will be used to research all this information. One group will make a Venn diagram to show the ways that penguins are different from and similar to other birds.Another group of students will make Venn diagrams showing how penguins are different from and similar to seals, whales, fish, and other birds. Each student will make a picture of their penguin. They will also model it using playdough or clay. This will help my 2nd grade struggling readers access to a wealth of knowledge that they get to explore independently and collaboratively.
