Our third grade classroom is located in an economically disadvantaged area of Syracuse, New York. I, like many other teachers, send out a class list at the start of the year, however I'm lucky if they have a backpack. 97% of the school I teach in receives FREE lunch and breakfast provided to students through a grant by New York State. While these students basic needs are being met at school, teaching and learning is sometimes difficult, as teachers are worrying about the home lives of these students. Because of the lack of funding for basic supplies and the inability of my students to be able to provide supplies towards their education, I am asking you today to make a donation to help each one of these students succeed. With your help and support, these students can have all they need to succeed in an environment that may not always shine that light to success. Thank you very much for your time and generosity!
