I am requesting class sets of two novels so each student has access to a copy! As a new teacher, I’ve been fortunate enough to able to bring contemporary and fresh literature to the classroom. I have added “Dear Martin” by Nic Stone into our Civil Rights unit as well as Kwame Alexander’s “The Crossover” to aid in a poetry unit! As great as this is for my students to see new perspectives, it is tough for me to fund class sets of books so each student has access to one. Please consider funding this project so that every student has access to quality reading in my classroom!
