The sensory swing will be a useful tool for my students to help with calming and refocusing. The Kenetic Sand will also allow students to focus on the feeling of the sand and help refocus their brain. Some items will help students meet individual sensory needs. The students in my classroom have incredible strengths and abilities but often need help refocusing or dealing with frustrations and stresses throughout the day. Providing sensory items allows students to work on social skills and academics while decreasing frustration and limiting over stimulation. By having a variety or items, the students will be able to try different items to see what works best for their individual needs.
