This is a preventative approach that encompasses social skills, self-management skills and growth mindset through play therapy techniques, bibliotherapy, and guided reflection exercises. These materials will be used to enrich classroom guidance lessons and small group counseling sessions that build a sense of community, caring and encouragement amongst students. They will not be used for learning from home. Lessons or sessions start with reading a book on the social emotional topic of the week. After discussion, an activity is developed using the materials requested, and we wrap it up by setting goals for the following week in terms of personal growth.
