Students in grades three to twelve are currently 1:1 with iPads. Unfortunately, this is not available for my students who are in first grade. We have a few iPads, but the students have difficulty utilizing them when there are four - five students trying to look at one iPad. These extra iPads will make it possible for the students in my class to be 2:1 with technology. We are in the 21st century and all students should have the opportunity to learn how to be digital citizens. Students can access Google tools such as Sheets, Slides and Docs to write and share their learning. There are also many apps such as: RAZ Kids, Book Creator, Adobe Spark and Reflex Math that students can access to build their reading, writing and math skills. Using the SeeSaw app, I can create activities and record directions for my students to work on independently while I work with small groups and individuals in the class. These iPads will give my students the experience they need to be successful in school and in life. Title I students are already at a disadvantage, so why not give them the chance to have access to digital tools they will use the rest of their lives.
