Mississippi’s new science standards allow students to come up ideas to improve the world around us. We are going to used 3D pens to create models of the science concepts that we are studying. The students can work in collaborative groups to design, test and improve their own ideas. These 3D pens will be used to create a 3D model of an area and the students are going to use various colors to track student’s ideas for ways to improve resiliency to different natural hazards. Through this activity the students will be able to learn engineering skills as well as collaboration and effective discord.
