Our school is predominately made up of ESL students who are of the Somalian culture. There are many students who do not speak English and most students have parents who do not speak English. They get their learning at school and are not able to have help from their parents at home because of the language barrier. Our school is also economically challenged and in need of many resources. Many resources that would normally be provided for teachers at other schools are not provided here such as supplies like glue sticks, pencils, crayons and so on. Many families do not have the money for these supplies and teachers are left to purchase them for their class. Many of our students fall below the poverty line and any help we can get is much appreciated!
