The GoPro will be used to provide skills to my students through video modeling. Video modeling is a visual teaching method where the teacher will video his or herself doing the desired/targeted behavior and the student will watch a video of the behavior and imitate/mirror the behavior in the model. I have a nonverbal student on the Autism spectrum and he requires visual supports in order to be successful in the classroom. All of my students are cognitively delayed and need repetition and teacher modeling of all skills (academic, behavioral, self-care, etc.) I want to provide all of my students with the skills necessary to be successful beyond the classroom, and I can help them do this through the use of video modeling. Although I will use the GoPro differently for each student, all of my students will benefit from the GoPro for video modeling of self-care routines and how to complete a work task.
