As we transition into hybrid learning, we would like to give our Kindergarten students an opportunity to use a literacy or math center to support our math and literacy workshops! These games and activities with be used as learning centers and will give the in-person and remote students an opportunity for hands-on learning to help support their math and literacy skills. For example, a student might use the Build a Word activity during a brain-break to reinforce a phonics lesson on CVC and practice fine motor skills. Another student might select Write-A-Letter activity to reinforce our handwriting unit and practice their letter formation. Remote students would also be provided with either a Phonics Recognition or Operations folder game to reinforce skills taught during our literacy & math mini-lessons. Hands-on and play-based learning activities are so important for this age group; these individual centers will allow us to include this in our day while adhering to COVID guidelines. My hybrid students will get a chance to explore their center/game during our literacy daily 5, math center block, brain breaks, and indoor recess. Each student will get their own center for a week; centers will then be disinfected and quarantined for 48 hours and redistributed the following week! Remote students will be able to pick up a file folder game each week to keep at home, as well! Thank you in advance for your generosity!
