I am the special education teacher in a bilingual integrated preschool classroom of twenty students who are English language learners - eight of whom have disabilities. Our school is in a large high-poverty urban district which lacks the funds to keep our technology and teaching resources up-to-date. My students come from diverse family situations, some with very few resources. My little learners master content through hands-on experiences and play. It is my goal to give each child a differentiated learning experience while giving them real world opportunities and access to the experiences that other children their age receive.
